Did you miss out on Synapse Theatre Ensemble's first ever Snapdragon Play-In-A-Day Competition?? That is ok. Because all four of the thrown together, guerrilla-theatre style short plays are now available to watch on Youtube! I cannot lie, these were shows that were meant to be experienced in person. But they're still a riot to be able to look back on through the magic of Matt Bayer wielding a camera and a laptop. So watch some lovely clips of THE LAST MINUTE (viewable above) featuring me or watch THE LAST MINUTE uncut (viewable below). Starring CHARLY BIVONA RACHEL RIENDEAU IAN CRAMER ROBERT TARUSHKA Directed by Abigail Strange Written by Jordan Hue Ladies and Gentlemen, Synapse Theatre Ensemble is proud to bring to you the first in what will become an annual event for our company! The Snapdragon Play-in-a-Day Competition! The tickets are only $10.00 to be purchased at the door! The show will be featured at the Access Theatre Blackbox at 8:00 PM! Here's how the competition will work: We have an eclectic and extraordinarily group of playwrights, directors, actors, and actresses. Theyve been divided into 4 groups. Each group consists of 1 Playwright, 1 Director, and 4-5 actors and actresses. At 8:00 PM the day before the competition, the 4 playwrights will be given a theme and a prop that must be incorporated into the play they will each be writing. The writers will then write a 10-20 minute play. When the play is complete they will pass it along to the director who will spend all day rehearsing with the actors / actresses as well as putting together the whole piece, including tech elements like lights, sound, and props. At 8:00 PM the audience will be seated and the 4 plays will be performed after only 24 hours from conception to curtain. After the shows have performed, YOU the audience will vote, via paper ballot, for the winners in these 5 individual categories: Best Writer Best Director Best Actress Best Actor Best Overall Production And that's it! Refreshments will be served and this should be an electric night of theatre! For only $10.00 you cant go wrong! So come and support these amazing artists and witness an astounding feat of rapid collaboration! You will NOT want to miss this! I just stumbled upon some lovely production stills, from an indie Michigan web series I made a few appearances in last year. Perks is an adorable Parachute Productions project by Paul Genzink and Lindsey Scott, that "gives you a unique behind-the-counter view of the people who dedicate their lives to serving you your morning coffee. Along with his eccentric staff, local coffee shop owner, Max, struggles to keep his business and his own life afloat while his employees and patrons adjust to the natural ebb and flows of life," I guess. Filmed in Holland, MI's Lemonjello's Coffee shop. WATCH IT ---> launch related site And WATCH ZEH CLIP BELOW Starting rehearsals for I DO WONDER next week. A Sci-fi play in which several short plays/vignettes will narrate an alternate history of the mid-20th century. Written by the gorgeous and powerful, <--------------- Matt Bayer. I play the title role in the short play called Grace. According to Mr. Bayer, a certain episode of The Twilight Zone is responsible for I DO WONDER's very existence. This fateful episode was just emailed to me. Watch it with me? I DO WONDER TICKETS | launch related site

I appeared in On The Rocks: The Unsolved Mysteries of Jack & Sal during the Christmas season of 2012. 'Twas an absolute ball. Take a gander at the first few of a silly string of trailers Synapse Theatre Ensemble released for On The Rocks: The Unsolved Mysteries of Jack & Sal last December: It's a show that falls somewhere between The Odd Couple and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
And we're submitting the script for the NYC Fringe Festival next year! So keep your ears and eyes open for any word about On The Rocks: The Unsolved Mysteries of Jack & Sal coming back in a big way. Website | launch related site FB | launch related site |

March: CURSE OF THE STARVING CLASS by Sam Shepard with the Brooklyn Acting Lab A darkly comic exploration of the American family psyche, this Obie Award-winning play is an expository look at the four members of the Tate family who live on a half-neglected farm in rural California. Having driven his family deep into debt, an alcoholic father strives for an impossible redemption in a home his wife has struggled to maintain for so long. Meanwhile, their two children teeter on the brink of adolescence and adulthood, revealing the role their parents’ dysfunction plays in their escalated loss of innocence. Trapped in a grotesque farce of the American dream, we see these four characters seduced by credit and developers, dreaming of escape while constantly facing the reality of hunger. The play examines the death of the American family as hardship clouds all interaction and any mutual understanding is lost.
